Give yourself a (re)treat!
Retreats are immersive experiences in which we collectively create spaces of transformation that are just not possible to achieve in our everyday hangouts. A retreat deepens your ability to make a fresh start by taking you out of the ordinary and shaking up your daily rhythms, allowing for a broader perspective on your patterns and habits, and giving you the fresh impetus to commit to change.
The Faraway Nearby: A Retreat for Women & Nonbinary Writers
April 2nd-15th, 2023 @ Ghost Ranch, New Mexico
Sometimes you need a special getaway to make headway on writing while feeding your soul. Ghost Ranch is one of those spectacular places — situated on 21,000 acres of vast space and New Mexico skies that will ground and uplift whatever writing project you’re working on.
Wendy Call, an award-winning writer, translator, editor and educator and Yael Flusberg, a poet-yoga therapist-coach — are teaming up to host an intimate, two-week self-directed writing retreat for women and non-binary writers. You can apply to participate in both weeks, or just one.
Each day, we’ll enjoy an hour each of freewriting and yoga/mindfulness meant to support your work, but the bulk of time is to use it as you see fit for your own work — and to be inspired by all that Ghost Ranch has to offer.
Cost is $1095 per week or a shared bath in a two-person, two-room suite, and $1395 per week for a private room/study/bath. Housing is in a simple building on a glorious mesa with breathtaking views. All meals will be at the Ghost Ranch dining hall. There are options for vegetarians and some gluten-free options. (Vegan and other diets are not available in the dining hall.) Fee includes the retreat, room and board. Please note that wifi is terrible, so you will not be able to do other work while here – which might be an added benefit for you!
