With so much information coming at you each day, it’s easy to feel like your brain is bombarded and busy, like a hoarders’ attic or a mall on Black Friday. Mindfulness and writing can literally change your brain, boost immune function, and lighten your mood. Both help us become more resilient—to pay attention to the small stuff, play with shifting perspectives, be grounded and optimistic, learn from failure, and make life-affirming choices filled with integrity and compassion.

“Wisdom begins in wonder,” said Socrates, and we’ll integrate mindfulness practices with brief readings and writing prompts to help us get a little bit wiser, a little bit more hopeful. Bring your favorite notebook, a pen, and an open attitude.
