In which I try to tease out the symbiotic — or Yin and Yang — relationship between resilience and trauma, in terms of how they play out in our bodies, nervous systems, cognition and behavior. While trauma is often thought of as being our personal problem — what we need to fix/discharge/work through/medicate — resilience is likewise considered to be what we as individuals need to build up.
